NEWBURGH – A Newburgh man has been committed to the Orange County
Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash or bond following his arrest on charges that
he possessed a loaded 40 caliber handgun and over 16 ounces of marijuana.
State Police arrested Shamel Williams of Newburgh following a traffic
stop on charges of criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession
of marijuana, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.
Williams was arraigned in Newburgh City Court and remanded to county jail.
