Debt dispute results in threats, arrest

KINGSTON –Kingston police arrested a city man on charges of felony criminal mischief and misdemeanor menacing and criminal trespass over money owed him.
Police said on May 1 at about 6:30 a.m., they were called to a Spring Street address where a person had damaged two doors including a glass pane in one of the doors.
During the incident, Michel Belgrave, 18, of Orchard Street, Kingston, had also allegedly threatened another person with a knife.  Witnesses identified Belgrave as the person responsible. He was located a short distance away and taken into custody.
Belgrave was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.
