RENO, NEVADA – Days after SUNY Sullivan President Dr. Karin Hilgersom resigned from her post, she has a new job. The Board of Regents of Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno, Nevada approved her as the college’s new president on Monday.
She had been named as the sole finalist for the job last Friday and her selection was formalized, along with her contract, at Monday’s special regents’ session.
“I am humbled and overjoyed to be selected to serve as the next president of TMCC,’ Hilgersom said. “TMCC is an extraordinary college and I am inspired by the wonderful students, staff, and faculty who shared their enthusiasm with me this past week for the important work occurring every day at the college.”
Board of Regents Chairman Rick Trachok said he is “convinced that Dr. Hilgersom has the necessary vision, skill, and energy to lead TMCC.”
