NEW PALTZ – It was six years in the making and on Thursday SUNY New Paltz officials celebrated the reopening of Sojourner Truth Library.
Over $14 million in renovations with state-of-the-art technologies and
expanded learning spaces, along with aesthetic improvements, make the
facility a place students enjoy, said college President Dr. Donald Christian.
“Our students tell us they love the space, they live in the space. You can in there on a Sunday afternoon or a weekday afternoon and virtually every seat and every table is occupied, and that is a great thing to see,” Christian said.
Much of the renovations concentrate on the first floor with the west side of the building opened up for “inspiring views of the Shawangunk Ridge.”
