POUGHKEEPSIE – A warrant search by Poughkeepsie Police resulted
in the arrests of two people and the seizure of 204 bags of heroin and
$3,676 in cash.
The department’s Neighborhood Recovery Unit and Emergency Service
Unit raided a basement apartment at 12 High Street on Friday and arrested
Angel Ortiz, 48, and Jasleslie Cappiello, 33, both of 12 High Street.
They were charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The search warrant was the result of an investigation into narcotics distribution
of drugs at the location based on several complaints of neighbors.
Police ask anyone with information about drug dealing or suspicious activity
in their neighborhood to call them at 845-451-4060.
