Dutchess IDA to consider incentives for power plant

POUGHKEEPSIE – The Dutchess County Industrial Development Agency
is going to consider approval of a preliminary resolution for financial
incentives for the $1.5 billion Cricket Valley Energy Center on Route
22 in the Town of Dover.

When the IDA meets on Tuesday, it will consider a payments-in-lieu-of-taxes
agreement as well as sales tax exemption and mortgage tax exemption for
a project to demolish an existing building, remediate environmental issues
and build a new electric generating facility.

The IDA board will also consider approval of a preliminary resolution
for Empire Hotel Development for a sales tax exemption and mortgage tax
exemption for a $10.5 million project to build a 93-room hotel on 8.4
acres in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
