FISHKILL – State Police have arrested a former inmate at Fishkill
Correctional Facility for felony assault.
Francisco Esmurria, 19, was arrested after an investigation revealed that
he had covered his cell windows with a blanket and was unresponsive when
staff checked on his welfare. When corrections officers entered his cell,
Esmurria attacked them with one officer sustained a shoulder injury.
Esmurria was arrested on Tuesday, April 12, arraigned and returned to
the custody of the state prison system pending a future court appearance.
State Police were assisted by the state Department of Corrections and
Community Service.
