Fire heavily damages New City home

NEW CITY – Fire Monday morning caused heavy damage to a residence at 4 Stark Court in New City.
When Ramapo Police and Hillcrest firefighters arrived on the scene at 8:43 a.m., the home was engulfed in flames.
One resident suffered a minor injury and was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern.
The two-alarm fire brought out several Rockland fire departments including Spring Valley, Suffern, New City, Nanuet, Orangeburg and Haverstraw as flames shot out of the roof with billowing black smoke rising into the sky.  Spring Hall Ambulance as well as New City and Rockland Paramedic Services were also on the scene.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Ramapo Police Department Detective Unit and the Rockland County BCI unit.
