Early April snow in the Town of Wallkill Sunday morning

MID-HUDSON — High wind warnings for the Mid-Hudson Valley continue today
through 2 p.m., the National Weather Service reported. A freeze watch
has been cancelled, but snow fell this morning coating the ground and
cars.

High winds could down trees and power lines causing power outages and
difficulty driving, especially high profile vehicles on overpasses and
bridges.
By sunrise, there were several emergency calls for trees and wires down,
some blocking roadways.

Orange and Rockland Utilities’ Storm Watch preparations continued
for possible emergency repair and electric service restoration work in
anticipation of the wind storm moving through the area.
