Orange County firefighters cross into PA to aid with brush fire

WESTFALL TWP, PA – Firefighters from Orange County departments crossed over the Delaware River on Tuesday afternoon to assist neighboring departments battle a large brush fire on Heater Hill near Matamoras, Pennsylvania.
Port Jervis, Sparrowbush and Huguenot volunteer firefighters were called to Pike County to assist in that firefighting operation.
An Orange County communications tower on that mountain was not reported in any danger from the fire.
Several other brush fires were reported throughout the region on Tuesday.
The spring brush fire season will continue until either there is rain, or the vegetation turns green.
