MIDDLETOWN – A Middletown woman is charged with felony assault and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.
The Orange County Child Abuse Unit arrested Georjina Marquez, 39, following a report to the New York State Child Abuse hotline. An investigation was conducted in conjunction with the Orange County Department of Social Services – Child Protective Services.
State Police said the investigation revealed Marquez had struck a child under the age of 16 with an object deemed to be a dangerous instrument, causing injury to the child.
Marquez was sent the Orange County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $7,500 bond. A restraining order was issued on behalf of the victim.
