MONTICELLO – Village Police in Monticello have arrested a local
man on felony charges of drug possession, misdemeanor criminally using
drug paraphernalia and a violation of unlawful possession of marijuana.
Leon “Smoke” Edwards, 29, of Monticello, was arrested on Tuesday
following the execution of a search warrant at a residence at 18 Fairground
Road in Monticello.
Seized at that location were 8.3 grams of crack cocaine, packaging materials,
a digital scale, a handheld Taser and a small amount of marijuana.
Edwards was arraigned and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without
bail.
Assisting Monticello Police were State Police, Sullivan County Sheriff’s
Office, Village of Liberty Police, FBI Safe Streets Task Force and the
Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office.
