WASHINGTON – Four Hudson Valley housing councils will receive a total of $984,000 in federal funds from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Resident Opportunities and Self Sufficiency program.
The Curran Court Homes Tenant Council, the Troy Manor Tenant Council and the Walsh Road Tenant Council, all in the City of Yonkers, will reach receive $246,000.
The Poughkeepsie Housing Authority in the city will also receive $246,000.
The HUD ROSS program provides federal funding that helps local resident agencies, public housing authorities and councils, nonprofit organizations and more support the kinds of services, programs and other activities designed to help those most in need become self-sufficient.
The funding was announced by US Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand.
