CORTLANDT – Community advocate and Cortlandt Town Councilwoman Debbie Carter Costello announced her candidacy for the 40th District of the NYS Senate.  Debbie, a member of the Democratic Party, will seek the Democratic Party nomination as well as other ballot lines this fall.
The 40th Senate District includes parts of Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess Counties
“Community service and civic engagement have always been a priority for me” said Carter Costello.   “As a lifelong resident of this District, I am excited about the opportunity to represent my neighbors in Albany and work to improve the lives of all the people in our diverse towns and villages.”
Carter Costello contends “Albany is plagued by corruption and if elected, I pledge to be a full time legislator focused only on needs of my constituents and not on the agendas of Albany insiders.  I will prioritize passing meaningful ethics reform, supporting our middle class families and small business owners, fighting tirelessly for better public education, and providing the residents of our district with the resources and services that they deserve.”
“Women’s rights” is also high on her priority list
