Reward offered help in solving Woodbury rape

TOWN OF WOODBURY – New York State Crime Stoppers is offering a reward up to $2,500 for information that directly leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the forcible rape of a woman in the Town of Woodbury last Christmas morning.
At about 5:30 in the morning, a woman was walking on Ridge Road in Highland Mills just past Highland Lake Estates when a vehicle, believed to be a two-door sedan, pulled up behind her. A man got out, accosted her and forced her into the woods where the sexual assault occurred.
The suspect is believed to be a bald, clean shaven Hispanic man with stubble and speaking with a Central American accent.  After the assault, the suspect fled on foot. The car in which the suspect exited left the scene.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the New York State Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-866-313-TIPS (8477) or download the mobile app and provide the information from their smart phone.
