SPRING VALLEY – Ramapo Police are investigating the robbery of a cab driver Sunday night on South Cole Court in Spring Valley.
The victim told officers a man flagged him down earlier at the Spring Valley Transportation Center and requested a ride to South Cole. When they arrived, the suspect grabbed the driver around the neck with one arm while holding an unknown object against his side.
After taking the cabbie’s money, the suspect sprayed an unknown substance in the victim’s eyes and fled on foot.
The victim was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern to have his eyes treated.
The suspect was described as a black man wearing dark colored clothing.
