If as expected, the license is issued next week, Montreign must open
by the end of 2017

NEW YORK – One year after three casino gaming sites were selected by the state gaming commission, their formal licensing will be approved next week.
The commission is expected to issue the actual licenses for the Montreign Resort Casino in Sullivan County as well as the Lago Resort & Casino and Rivers Casino & Resort at Mohawk Harbor.  All three appear on the agenda for the gaming commission’s Monday session.
Once those licenses are formally issued, construction on the casinos may begin.   They must be completed and opened for business in two years.
Officials of the Montreign facility in Kiamesha Lake have said most of the infrastructure at the site has been completed so the vertical work would commence as soon as the license is issued.
