Ruback
NEW CITY – A New City man has been arrested in Rockland County
on a felony charge of grand larceny.
District Attorney Thomas Zugibe said Joseph Ruback, 46, “used threats
and intimidation to collect debts and charged usurious interest rates
on outstanding debts.” The DA said the arrest “sends a loud
and clear message that law enforcement will keep up the pressure on those
involved in this type of criminality.”
Ruback was arrested on Thursday by detectives with the Organized Crime
Unit, a division of the DA’s Regional Investigative Resource Center.
Ruback, who has gained notoriety as New York Giants superfan “License
Plate Guy,” was arraigned and committed to the Rockland County Jail
on $2,000 bail.
The case is being prosecuted by Executive ADA Dominick Crispino and ADA
Justin Ames.
