POUGHKEEPSIE – Assistant Dutchess County Executive Michael Ellison has resigned from the post and will be serving in the Majority Republican Conference in the state Senate.
County Executive Marcus Molinaro termed Ellison, who previously served
as assistant to Dutchess Legislature Chairman Robert Rolison, “a
good friend and valued advisor.”
Molinaro said Ellison helped establish the principles of “Focus, Logic, Inclusion and Fairness” that have guided the administration’s decision-making.
Ellison has “played a pivotal role in so many of the initiatives of this administration,” the county executive said. “He has championed our shared service initiatives, including the creation of the Municipal Consolidation and Shared Service Grant Program, providing opportunities for our municipalities to be smaller, smarter and more effective.”
Molinaro said he also “steered the realignment of our community partnerships through the creation of our Agency Partnership Grant Program, establishing greater fairness for the distribution of scarce county resources.”
Ellison will be working in Albany to help with the reelection efforts of Republican senators Susan Serino and Terrence Murphy, two Hudson Valley lawmakers, along with some other competitive races in the area.
