WHITE PLAINS – A 78-year-old
Cortlandt Manor man was sentenced in Westchester County Court on Wednesday
for shooting his wife at close range with a shotgun.

Mario Vallorosi was sentenced to 3 ½ years in state prison on his
guilty plea of felony attempted assault.

At 4 a.m. on June 15, 2013, Vallorosi shot his wife at their home on Udell
Court.

Their adult son, who was also in the house at the time, heard a noise
and found his mother lying on a sofa in an upstairs computer room. He
called police.

The victim was transported to Westchester Medical Center with severe injuries
to her abdomen and chest.

Vallorosi was also sentenced to five years of post-release supervision.
