NEW ROCHELLE – The state Department
of Housing and Community Renewal is going to kick on $2.2 million for the
third and final phase of the Robert Hartley Houses public housing project
in the City of New Rochelle.

This phase will demolish and remove substandard public housing on the site
paving the way for 41 new rental units for low-income families.

The state will also provide $872,000 in low-income housing tax credits,
leveraging loans from a bank and the New Rochelle Affordable Housing Trust
Fund, as well as New York State Energy and Research and Development funds.

The apartments will be available to low-income households at or below 60
percent of area median income.
