Three arrested in farm stand burglary spree

MONROE – State Police have arrested three men in connection with a number of apple orchard break-ins in Orange and Ulster counties.
Arrested were David Perez, 17, Bert McCormick, 18, and Quaheem Washington, 20, all of Highland Falls. They were each charged with several counts of burglary.
Perez was charged with six counts of burglary in Orange County after breaking into apple orchards in the towns of Blooming Grove, Warwick and Wawayanda.
McCormick was charged with four counts of burglary in Orange County and five counts in Ulster County.
Washington was charged with five counts of burglary in Ulster County were several orchards were broken into in the towns of Plattekill, Shawangunk and Gardiner.
Perez was committed to the Orange County Jail while McCormick and Washington were sent to the Ulster County Jail.  All three face additional charges from local police agencies and the investigation is continuing.
Involved in the investigation to date were town police from Highlands, Warwick and Blooming Grove in Orange County and Plattekill and Shawangunk Town Police in Ulster County.
