YONKERS – City officials and executives from True North Hotels and Robert Martin Company Thursday broke ground for a new Marriott Hotel in South Westchester Executive Park in Yonkers.
The 154-room Courtyard by Marriott, to be completed by mid-2016, will cost $24.5 million.
“This will be the third hotel in the Robert Martin Company developed in South Westchester Executive Park which further enhances Yonkers as a destination for business and leisure travel,” said Mayor Michael Spano.
The city’s Industrial Development Agency provided a financial assistance package. The hotel will provide approximately 50 full-time equivalent jobs and 250 construction jobs, adding to the city’s tax base “while adding little or no additional demand for local services,” said Yonkers IDA President Kenneth Jenkins. “It’s a clear boost for the city’s economy.”

Hotel will take less than a year to complete
