Forman

BEACON – Former Dutchess County Legislator John Forman, a Republican,
is running for the lawmaking body again. He is seeking to replace Democrat
Legislator Alison MacAvery, who is not seeking reelection.
Forman, a former five-term legislator, said it is “a great opportunity,
not only to run in a new district, but to follow up an honorable colleague
of mine in Alison MacAvery.” Forman said he served with her as well
as her father, the late John Ballo.”
Forman listed among his concerns the process of removing a taxable parcel of land and the application for property tax exemption; extending the hours of liquor stores; term limits for elected county officials; and downsizing the county legislature.
Forman is endorsed by the Republican, Conservative, Independence and newly-created Reform party.
