POUGHKEEPSIE – Republican Poughkeepsie mayoral candidate Robert Rolison has picked up the endorsements of two former mayors.
Colette Lafuente and Paul Buccellato announced their support for the man who is the current chairman of the Dutchess County Legislature.
Lafuente served the city from 1996 to 2003 and Buccellato served from 1992 through 1993.
Rolison faces Jere Tierney in the September 10 Republican primary.
“Rob Rolison is uniquely prepared to serve as mayor of the City of Poughkeepsie,” Lafuente said. “He will make the hard decisions and will work with the citizens of the city and the council members to move the city forward. Rob brings his experience as chair of the county legislature and a police officer in the Town of Poughkeepsie, which will inform his leadership of the city.”
Buccellato said as a former mayor, “I understand what it will take to overcome Poughkeepsie’s current challenges and make our city great again.”
