DEERPARK – The president of Dragon Springs, the Buddhist colony in the Cuddebackville area of western Orange County, said he has “no knowledge” of which residents registered to vote and whether they are US citizens.
Zhong Lee made the comments in response to concerns from Deerpark Town
Supervisor Gary Spears, who said between 60 and 68 Chinese residents registered
to vote within the last year and he is concerned if they are American
citizens and if their Orange County addresses are, in fact, their primary
residences.
Thirty of those who registered list the same 140 Galley Hill Road, Deerpark address.
“I have no idea of who registered and if they are citizens; I hope they are,” Lee told MidHudsonNews.com.
Spears said he would file a challenge to the new registrations with the Orange County Board of Elections to determine their status.
