Chester man and woman arrested on heroin possession charges

MONROE – Two Chester residents have
been arrested for possession of heroin after the car in which they were
riding was stopped on Route 17 Sunday evening for several traffic violations.

During the investigation, the female passenger, identified as Ashley Lovelace,
25, told State Police she had heroin in her bra. Troopers also recovered
over 1,200 decks of heroin – some 367 grams – in the vehicle.

The driver, Andrew Mitchell, 40, of Chester, was charged with two felony
counts and one misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a controlled
substance. He was remanded to the Orange County Jail without bail.

Lovelace was charged with misdemeanor drug possession. She was released
on an appearance ticket.
