CHAPPAQUA – Improvements at Roaring Brook Road in Chappaqua, where it crosses the Metro-North Railroad’s Harlem Line tracks, are planned for this weekend. Trail service will not be affected.
The railroad will replace the concrete approach on the east side of the road grade crossing with a new concrete deck to improve the drainage. Crews will also continue to clear culverts and deepen ditches on either side of the tracks.
The area is prone to flooding because of the nearby juncture of Roaring Brook and Chappaqua Brook, which runs alongside the tracks.
During the work, the state Department of Transportation will close the entrance and exit ramps from the Saw Mill River Parkway and Roaring Brook Road between the parkway and Southview Road.
