Extended stay hotel to replace old town hall

TOWN OF WALLKILL – The former Wallkill Town Hall is going to be
razed shortly to make way for a new extended stay Home 2 Suites by Hilton
Hotels.

The town closed on the sale to JCA Hotels on Monday netting the town $1.5
million. The two partners in the venture, Jake Kriney and Chet Patel,
are local developers, who have constructed and operated other hotels.

Town Supervisor Daniel Depew said the redevelopment of the property will
be yet another positive move for the Route 211 corridor.

Cost of construction is estimated to be between $7 million and $10 million
for the 99-room, four-story hotel.

The 4.4 acre parcel purchased in Wallkill includes three lots. The hotel
will occupy one with a retail space and restaurant under consideration
for the others.

Depew said demolition of the old town building will begin in the next
few weeks.
