ALBANY – The state Department of Environmental Conservation will issue permits to allow the Belleayre Resort at Catskill Park to move forward. DEC Commissioner Joseph Martens on Friday granted the agency staff’s motion to cancel the adjudicatory hearing on the Crossroads Ventures LLC year-round resort project.
Martens determined that significant modifications to the project and additional environmental studies have resolved environmental issues related to the project. Modifications include eliminating development on Big Indian Plateau.
An agreement in principle was executed in 2007 that served as the basis for a redesign and downsizing of the project that reduced environmental impacts.
DEC staff will now complete its environmental review responsibilities
including issuing a findings statement.
The decision directs DEC staff to issue permits to Crossroads Ventures.
