BEACON – Police are investigating
a report of a person who jumped off the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge just before
noon today (Tuesday).
Several police marine units have launched onto the Hudson River and a
State Police aviation union helicopter has been dispatched.
Initial reports said the person jumped off the east span of the bridge.
As a result of the investigation, traffic at the bridge was tied up but
has since been reopened.
