Chandra: “What is good for our particular body …”

TOWN OF THOMPSON – Officials of the Z Living/ Vera Nature Cure & Ayurvedic Wellness Center celebrated their official groundbreaking Sunday for the first International Yoga Day.
The wellness center, going up on the banks of Lake Bailey in Monticello, will be approximately 260,000 square feet and feature a yoga center, fitness center, couples’ and private treatment rooms, swimming pool and nature garden. The center will offer services such as hydrotherapy, acupuncture and physiotherapy.
Dr. Subhash Chandra, chairman for Z Living and billionaire entrepreneur
from India, has invested $18 million so far into the project which will
have a total estimated cost of $250 million. It is anticipated that it
will create 1,000 construction jobs and 800 permanent jobs within the
wellness center.
Chandra said the center is not a medical facility and the main philosophy
is to treat people naturally on an individual basis.
“What is good for your particular body, each one of us have got different body constitutions; so, these sciences recognize each body constitution and gives treatment with that,” Chandra said.
The philosophy behind the center will be based on the five ancient sciences of nature cure, Ayurveda, yogic science, nutrition and acupuncture.
Chandra said that the facility will be unlike anything in the world bringing in visitors from all corners and that it will create an experience that even those who have not been exposed to Eastern practices before will benefit from.
Chandra expects to have the facility completed and open for business in 12 to 18 months.
