KINGSTON – A Kingston is in the the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail after he allegedly assaulted a woman early Wednesday evening, June 10.
City Police were called to Broadway and East Strand for a dispute and learned that Larry McKnight, 28, had forcibly held a 29-year-old woman, held her from leaving and then grabbed her breasts.
A couple had observed McKnight’s actions and approached him. They called 911 as they saw McKnight continue to hold the woman against her will.
He let the victim go after a brief struggle and started to walk away and jumped into an occupied car that was in the area. That person also called 911 and officers located and arrested McKnight a short distance away. That victim was unhurt.
Police said the actions of the couple and the other person, who called 911, prevented further harm from happening.
