Hyde Park man arrested for ninth DWI

POUGHKEEPSIE – A Hyde Park man is in the Dutchess County Jail without bail after he was stopped Friday for DWI on Cannon Street in the City of Poughkeepsie. This is Joseph Lephew’s ninth DWI arrest since 1987, with at least four prior DWI convictions, three being for felony DWI.
Lephew, 56, was stopped for a traffic infraction shortly after 3 a.m. by Dutchess County Sheriff’s deputies and Poughkeepsie Police. Investigation revealed he was intoxicated and operating with a revoked driver’s license.
Lephew was charged with DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, both as felonies.
