KINGSTON – Ulster County Government is drafting a green fleet policy that the county legislature hopes to adopt.
The plan was approved in the Energy and Environment Committee on Monday night, said its Chairman Peter Loughran.
“We are looking at alternatives,” Loughran said.  “We are looking at electricity, we’re looking at bio-fuel, we are looking at a number of different policies in regard to how we drive and how we use vehicles and what type of vehicles we are going to purchase in the future.”
The legislature will conduct a public hearing on the proposal on July 15 at 6 p.m.
