PORT JERVIS – The Orange County Medical Examiner identified the woman whose body was found on the ground in an unpaved parking lot at the Port Jervis Middle School last Saturday as Larissa Salavec, 44, of Port Jervis.
Based on the preliminary findings of the autopsy and information gathered during the investigation, no signs of trauma or suspicious injuries were found that could be associated with the cause of death, authorities said. No official cause of death has been determined and police and the medical examiner’s office are awaiting toxicology results which could take four to six weeks to analyze to determine of alcohol or prescription medications may have contributed to her cause of death.
Port Jervis Police are continuing their investigation with the assistance of the State Police, and the Orange County District Attorney’s and Medical Examiner’s offices.
