Police identify victim in I-95 fatal

CITY OF RYE – State Police on Thursday identified the victim of a fatal one-car crash on the I-95 off ramp to exit 19, the Playland Parkway on Wednesday as a Brooklyn teen. Vanessa Hoodith, 16, was a rear passenger in a car occupied by four other people, who were all taken to area hospitals for treatment of injuries.
The accident occurred around 12:23 p.m. when the car was attempting to exit I-95 at a high rate of speed, failed to negotiate the right hand curve and drove off the road, striking the center concrete barrier with the left side of the car, police said.
No charges have been filed pending completion of the investigation.
