TOWN OF MONTGOMERY– Fire late Thursday morning gutted a 1 ½
story home at 235 Colden Hill Road in the Coldenham Fire District and
resulted in the death of one of three dogs and two cats in the home. One
other cat was removed, given oxygen and transported to a veterinary hospital
and another cat is still missing.
It took 60 to 70 firefighters from seven departments over three hours to extinguish the flames.    Assistant Chief Matthew Hunt said because of the time of day, it was difficult to attract sufficient volunteer firefighters to the scene.
There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
