POUGHKEEPSIE – As part of National Emergency Medical Services Week, Dutchess County’s top officials recognized the efforts of the EMS providers in the county.
This year’s theme is “EMS Strong” in recognition of the daily efforts of EMS providers across the country.
“Whether career or volunteer, Dutchess County is blessed with some of the finest EMS providers in our state,” said County Executive Marcus Molinaro. “EMS Strong is what draws our providers into this profession; it is what empowers them to fill this important role for our community. We are grateful for their efforts every day.”
Dutchess County 911 Public Safety Dispatcher Michael Macak has been honored as EMS Communications Specialist of the Year from the County EMS Council. He was recognized for his continued dedication, professional behavior and support of EMS.
The county departments of Health and Emergency Response were honored for Excellence in EMS Quality and Safety. The award was in response to their efforts for EMS during the Ebola response efforts of 2014.
