BEACON – Rombout Avenue in Beacon will undergo major reconstruction now that the city council has approved a $3.5 million bond to pay for the work.
The work on the thoroughfare will include infrastructure all the way to the surface.
“We are going to do some sewer improvements, a little water and some storm drain,” Mayor Randy Casale said.
The additional work will include sidewalks along one continuous side of the street. The road varied in width and it will be standardized.
The project must go out to bid before it can be started later this year.
