POUGHKEEPSIE – Fire Monday morning apparently killed one person and caused considerable damage to a house on Church Street near the intersection of Cherry Street in Poughkeepsie.
The fire reportedly caused smoke injuries to five people in the house One person was removed and taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation.
As of early this morning, no name had been released.
Several area fire departments were called in to assist. The Dutchess County Arson Squad and a K-9 unit are looking for a cause.
