Homeless man charged with stealing charity box from Monsey restaurant

MONSEY – Ramapo Police arrested a 23-year-old man with no known
address late Monday night for stealing a charity box containing cash off
the counter of a restaurant in Monsey.

Police arrested Benjamin Pugh near the scene of the 11:05 p.m. incident
at the Kosher Castle Restaurant at 43 Route 59. The charity box was also
recovered.

Ramapo Police were assisted at the scene by Chaverim of Rockland.

Pugh was charged with petit larceny.

Anyone who may have witnessed the theft of the suspect’s immediate
flight from the scene is asked to call Ramapo Police at 845-357-2400.
