TOWN OF WALLKILL – Police are looking
for a woman who carjacked a motorist in the parking lot of the Wal-mart
store on Route 211 East in the Town of Wallkill.

The crime took place at about 7:23 p.m. on Friday, March 27 when a woman
approached a 35-year-old White Lake woman in her parked car and asked
her for a dollar. When the driver refused, the suspect told her she had
been sexually assaulted and asked to use her phone. As the victim reached
for her phone, the suspect produced a silver handgun, causing the victim
to flee on foot. The suspect then took off in the victim’s 2009
gray, Hyundai Accent with New York license plate number FPR-5773.

Shortly after the robbery, a tow truck driver approached the Town of Wallkill
officers at the scene and said a car matching the description of the stolen
vehicle had just collided with his truck on Route 211 and the entrance
ramp to Route 17 east. The tow truck driver said after the crash, the
vehicle fled the scene east on Route 211 with possible front end damage.

The suspect is described as a white female in her late 30s or early 40s,
wearing a red curly wig with possible brown hair underneath, five feet,
four inches to five feet, six inches tall, heavy set and wearing jeans
and a black leather jacket.
