ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON – Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson has received a grant of $280,000 from the US Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs for the college’s participation in the Study of the US Institute for Scholars on US Foreign Policy.
A group of 18 foreign scholars, educators, and professionals will spend four weeks in an academic residency at Bard followed by a 10-day study tour that concludes in Washington, DC.
The Institute on US Foreign Policy will provide a program that examines the formulation and implementation of US foreign policy.
The Department of State provides six-week graduate-level seminars at US academy institutions for foreign university faculty, scholars, and practitioners. Each institute focuses on a theme in US studies with the ultimate goal of improving curricula and the quality of teaching about the United States in foreign universities.
The Bard grant was announced by Congressman Christopher Gibson (R, NY-19).
