SLOATSBURG – State Police have a Ramapo
man in custody with felony charges pending after an incident Sunday evening
at the Ramapo service area on the Thruway. A suspect, later identified
as Richard Morgan, 49, had reportedly fled from the Sunoco gas station
on foot at around 7 p.m.

Troopers found Morgan as he attempted to cross the Ramapo River and became

operation.

Morgan was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern for treatment
of possible hypothermia.

The investigation into the incident is continuing.
