POUGHKEEPSIE – It has been two years since Shequila Brown, 18, was struck and killed by a vehicle as she walked across eastbound Route 44/55 at the intersection of South Hamilton Street in Poughkeepsie on March 13, 2013. A $25,000 reward is now being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
The vehicle fled the scene and has never been identified. It has been described as a large dually pickup in, possibly black or dark red, with a loud exhaust.  It was last seen driving east on 44/55, speeding through the red light at South Clinton Street.
On the second anniversary of her death, Brown’s family and City of Poughkeepsie Police are asking anyone with information to call the police at 845-451-7577.
