Vargas takes on new role with Cuomo administration

ALBANY – The former regional director of the state’s Empire State Development Corporation, Aimee Vargas, has been appointed director of Downstate Intergovernmental Affairs, which covers the Hudson Valley, New York City and Long Island.
She also served previously as executive director of the Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Council and serves on the governor’s Tappan Zee Community Outreach team, which she will continue to do.
Vargas was formerly associate counsel at the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
