WAWAYANDA – A Middletown man was arrested and charged with assaulting his ex-girlfriend.
The woman told State Police that Clifton Tinnelly, 19, punched her in the face and then grabbed her head, using it to break the driver’s side window on her car. She was not seriously injured.
He fled the scene of the incident in the parking lot of a business on Route 6 in the Town of Wawayanda on the evening of Friday, March 6. He was found a short time later after he ran off the road on nearby McBride Road.
Tinnelly had been previously served with an order of protection prohibiting him from having any contact with the woman.
Troopers charged him with criminal contempt, criminal mischief and harassment. He was sent to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $45,000 bond.
