New York Rising plans completed for area storm-impacted communities

ALBANY – Eight Hudson Valley communities have completed their New York Rising Community Reconstruction Program plans and will receive state funding to perform repairs of storm damage from Superstorm Sandy and tropical storms Irene and Lee.
Each of the municipalities in this region will receive $3 million toward repair work.
The communities with approved plans in this round two funding are:

Town of Windham
Town of Blooming Grove
City of Middletown
Town of Wallkill
City of Yonkers
City of Rye
Town of Clarkstown
Village of Suffern

The goal of the program is to help the state become better equipped to withstand the effects of extreme weather, while empowering local communities to take the lead in resiliency efforts.
