TOWN OF WALLKILL – The tunnels on Silver Lake-Scotchtown Road in the Town of Wallkill that go under Metro-North Railroad tracks will be dedicated to disabled veterans of the armed forces.
The town hopes to formally dedicate the twin tunnels on Memorial Day. Town Supervisor Daniel Depew had a message for vets.
“We as the citizens are going to have the tunnels professionally painted,” Depew said.  “We are going to install the signs with a nice little ceremony and we are doing that for you because you have done so much for us.”
Town employee Michael Cody, a Vietnam War veteran and veterans’ advocate, invited all vets to come to the town DPW garage and sign the back of the two signs before they are installed.
